Joseph V. Walton, CFPIM, CIRM, CQM has over 25 years of diversified business experience with companies in manufacturing and distribution with in-depth expertise in the areas of Materials Management, Lean Manufacturing, Purchasing, Systems, Engineering, Quality Improvement and Manufacturing Management.
Joe holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University and an M.B.A. in Production Management from the University of Pittsburgh. After college he joined the Elliott Division of Carrier Corporation and over nine years gained broad supervisory experience working in all manufacturing departments. During the next sixteen years he obtained valuable management experience through executive positions in companies serving industrial product markets. Included among his many accomplishments are the introduction of a Continuous Quality Improvement Process, development of an effective Strategic Planning Process, installation of three successful MRP systems, implementation of a Sales and Operations Planning Process and development of an industry-leading Distribution and Sales organization and system.
Joe has achieved success throughout his career by combining a results-oriented attitude and strong analytical ability with a team-focused approach. As a consultant, his client companies have achieved measurable improvements in operating costs, purchased material costs, quality results, inventory and on-time delivery.
Joe has been active in professional societies over the years. He has reached the highest certification level given by the American Production and Inventory Control Society; having attained both Certified Fellow Production and Inventory Management and Certified in Integrated Resource Management. He is also a member of ASQ.
For relaxation, Joe and his wife Karen ski and golf, often with their two sons. They reside in Bethlehem, PA.
